Veolia Water Network Services, as part of the consortium "Momentum", has been awarded the contract to deliver the Sydney Water Watermains Program Alliance valued at approx. $900 million for the potential duration of 7 years.
The Sydney Water Watermains Program Alliance will comprise of Veolia Water Network Services, Bovis Lend Lease Australia, CLM Infrastructure and Sydney Water, and will be responsible for a significant proportion of Sydney Water's planned capital works.
A key component of the Sydney Water Watermains Works Program Alliance is to replace pipes in areas which have a history of leaks and breaks to ensure that the network can support more than 4 million people in Sydney, Illawarra and the Blue Mountains.
The area of operations, totalling almost 13,000 square kilometres, extends from the Hawkesbury River in the north to Gerroa in the South, and from the Pacific Ocean westward to Mount Victoria in the Blue Mountains.
