Parramatta Park is the second oldest park in Australia. Due to the age, the concrete pipe was deformed and misaligned. It also had longitudinal and fractures cracking along the pipe, indicating a significant compromise in the structural integrity of the asset.
Veolia Water Network Services was able to propose a cost-effective innovative solution to this historic site after checking the pipe loading, site conditions and traffic loads on the bridge.
The critical aspect of the application was to ensure that the new pipe was structurally adequate for the applied loading of the pipe, therefore in consultation with the pipe manufacturer, our pipe design team at VWNS was able to offer a slip lining trenchless solution using a polyethylene (PE) pipe.
We were able to maintain continuous high quality standard with minimal noise and distruption to the local residents.
